# AI Council

> AI Council is a native macOS and iOS app that consults several AI models at once, has them anonymously peer-review each other, and synthesises one reliable answer with a confidence signal. Use your own API keys, or subscribe on Setapp to have the AI included. Available on the Mac App Store, the iOS App Store, and Setapp (worldwide except Mainland China). Last updated 2026-06-05.

Instead of trusting a single model, AI Council runs a three-stage deliberation: models answer independently, rank each other's answers using anonymous labels to prevent favouritism, then a chosen "chairman" model synthesises the collective result. It supports 20+ providers, eleven interface languages, five themes, image input, live web search, a side-by-side comparison view, direct chat, document workspaces, and local models on macOS. Conversations stay on the user's devices, encrypted with AES-256; API keys live in the Apple Keychain.

- Stage 1, Gather: the question goes to several models in parallel; each answers independently.
- Stage 2, Anonymous peer review: each model ranks the others using anonymous labels (Response A, B, C) to prevent favouritism.
- Stage 3, Chairman synthesis: a chosen model reads every response and review and produces one synthesised answer with a confidence signal.
