Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Summary: AI Council is designed with privacy at its core. All your data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information or conversations.
Introduction
Techniciti SARL ("we", "our", or "us") operates the AI Council applications for macOS and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our applications.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. AI Council is designed to keep your data local and under your control.
Information We Do Not Collect
AI Council does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your conversations or queries
- Your API keys or credentials
- Personal identification information
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Device identifiers
- Location data
Local Data Storage
All data created by AI Council is stored locally on your device:
Conversations
Your conversations are stored as encrypted files in the application's local data directory. These files never leave your device and are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption.
API Keys
API keys you provide for AI providers are stored securely in your device's Keychain, the same secure storage used by iOS and macOS for passwords and sensitive credentials. We never have access to your API keys.
Settings and Preferences
Your application settings (such as theme preferences, selected models, and UI customisations) are stored locally in standard user preferences.
Local Models (macOS only)
If you download AI models for local inference on macOS, these are stored in the application's designated folder within your Library directory. You have full control over these files. Local model support is not available on iOS.
Third-Party Services
AI Council connects to third-party AI providers only when you explicitly send a query. These connections are made directly between your Mac and the chosen AI provider.
AI Provider Communications
When you send a query, your question is transmitted directly to the AI providers you have configured (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or others). Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle your data:
- OpenAI: openai.com/privacy
- Anthropic: anthropic.com/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
- xAI: x.ai/privacy
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any AI provider you choose to use.
Local Model Operation (macOS only)
When using local models via Ollama or downloaded GGUF files on macOS, your queries are processed entirely on your Mac. No data is transmitted to any external service.
Provider Registry Updates
AI Council may periodically check for updates to the list of supported AI providers. This connection retrieves a configuration file and does not transmit any personal information.
Data Security
We implement several security measures to protect your data:
- Keychain Storage: API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain with the most restrictive access permissions
- Encryption at Rest: Conversations are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before being written to disk
- App Sandbox: AI Council runs in a sandboxed environment with limited system permissions
- No Network Server: The app does not create any network servers or accept incoming connections
Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete Conversations: You can delete any conversation from within the app, which removes the encrypted file from your device
- Remove API Keys: API keys can be removed from the Keychain at any time through the app's settings
- Delete Local Models (macOS): Downloaded models can be removed through the app or by deleting the files directly
- Uninstall: Uninstalling AI Council removes the application. On macOS, you may manually delete the associated data in ~/Library/Application Support/AICouncil/
Children's Privacy
AI Council is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can address the situation.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Legal Basis (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area, we process minimal data necessary for the app's operation. Since we do not collect personal data, GDPR data subject rights are inherently satisfied - your data remains on your device under your control.
